File2Text is a macOS application that converts various file formats into Markdown text. The App processes your files entirely on your device, enabling you to extract and transform content from documents into clean, portable Markdown format.
We believe your data belongs to you. File2Text is designed with privacy as a fundamental priority. All data processing happens locally on your Mac — your files and their contents never leave your device.
File2Text does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data. Specifically, the App does not:
All file-to-Markdown conversion operations are performed entirely on your Mac. Your documents, including any text, images, formatting, and any sensitive or confidential content within them, remain under your complete control at all times.
File2Text is distributed through the Apple App Store. When you purchase or download the App, Apple's own privacy policy and terms of service apply to that transaction. We do not receive any personally identifiable information from Apple about our users. All purchases are handled securely by Apple.
Because File2Text processes all data locally on your device, your files are never exposed to external servers or networks. This local-only approach provides the highest level of data security for your documents.
File2Text does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
